A young man died under mysterious circumstances after falling from level-7 of Bashundhara City shopping complex at Panthapath in the capital.
The police could not immediately confirm the identity of the deceased man.
The police are working to confirm whether the young man committed suicide or was thrown to death.
The incident took place in front of hundreds of people inside the market on Wednesday (May 27) afternoon.
Tejgaon Police Station OC-in-charge (OC) Kyashinyu Marma said that after the young man fell from above, he was rescued and taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH), where doctors declared him dead soon after.
He said that CCTV footage from the scene is being collected and analyzed. Efforts are underway to identify the young man along with investigating the incident. However, it is initially believed that the young man may have committed suicide by jumping from above.
