DSCC administrator: Dhaka to be cleaned within 8hrs of Eid-ul-Azha

Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) Administrator Md Abdus Salam said on Wednesday that the capital will be cleaned within eight hours of sacrificial animal slaughter during Eid-ul-Azha.

Speaking to reporters after inaugurating vegetable garden landscaping work, he said waste removal will begin from the night the cattle markets close.

Abdus Salam said 11 cattle markets have been permitted in the DSCC area this year, and special attention will be given so that buyers and sellers do not face any inconvenience.

He added that veterinary doctors and law enforcement members will be deployed at the markets so that all activities can be completed in an orderly manner.

On dengue and chikungunya, he said preparatory work has already begun to control the diseases this year. He added that areas where mosquito larvae are more prevalent have been identified, and necessary steps are being taken.

Addressing citizens, he said stagnant water increases the risk of dengue and urged everyone to maintain cleanliness in their respective areas.
