A mobile court operated by RAB-2 has seized 296 litres of illegally stored fuel from two establishments in the Agargaon area of the capital. The owners of the two businesses were also fined a total of Tk 2,000.
The information was confirmed by RAB-2 Senior Assistant Director (Media) Md Shamsul Islam on Thursday.
He said the operation was carried out in the Agargaon area under Sher-e-Bangla Nagar Police Station. During the operation, 158 litres of octane and 138 litres of diesel were recovered from the two establishments.
RAB Executive Magistrate Md Abu Hasan later conducted the mobile court proceedings.
Based on their confessions, the two establishments were found guilty. Their owners were fined a total of Tk 2,000 and issued verbal warnings.
RAB-2 stated that such operations would continue in order to address the fuel crisis.
