The Eid-ul-Fitr prayer congregation was held in the tunnel of the Bangladesh National Parliament Building, beneath the South Plaza, at 8:00 AM on Saturday.
Bangladesh National Parliament Speaker Hafiz Uddin Ahmed Bir Bikram, along with officials and employees of the Parliament Secretariat and worshippers from all walks of life, participated in the congregation, according to a press release
For the first time this year, arrangements were made for women to participate in the Eid congregation. Secretary of the National Parliament Secretariat, Kaniz Mawla, also attended the prayer.
Following the Speaker’s directives and considering the convenience of worshippers as well as adverse weather conditions, comprehensive preparations and security arrangements were completed for the congregation held in the tunnel. After the prayer, dates were distributed among the worshippers.
Following the prayer and khutbah, a special supplication (munaajat) was offered, seeking welfare, happiness, peace, and prosperity for the entire Muslim Ummah as well as the country and its people. The supplication was led by Senior Imam of the National Parliament Secretariat, Muhammad Saifullah.
After the Eid congregation, the Speaker exchanged Eid greetings with worshippers, while attendees embraced and exchanged greetings with one another.
