Ducsu Vice President Abu Shadik Kayem has urged Chief Adviser Dr Muhammad Yunus to clearly state his position on the trial of Sharif Osman Hadi.
He made the remarks after inaugurating a two-day graffiti and wall-writing program at Dhaka University at 10pm on Wednesday, demanding justice for Sharif Osman Hadi and aiming to spread his struggle and resistance across the country.
Shadik Kayem said: “We expected him (chief adviser) to speak about the demand for justice for martyr Osman Hadi. He spoke on many issues, but did not say a single word about the trial of martyr Osman Hadi.”
He added: “We urge the chief adviser to clarify his position. There can be no compromise on the question of justice for martyr Osman Hadi.”
Referring to various conspiracies aimed at erasing Sharif Osman Hadi, Sadik Kayem called on everyone to keep his legacy alive.
“We must always remain vigilant in preserving the memory of martyr Osman Hadi — his words, his narratives, and his powerful statements against aggression and imperialism — and spread them more strongly across the country,” he said.
At the same time, he urged the interim government to bring all those involved in the killing of Sharif Osman Hadi to justice.
He warned: “Otherwise, the consequences you face will be worse than the fate of fascism in Bangladesh, worse than the fate faced by killer Hasina.”
Sadik Kayem also called upon students and people from all walks of life across Bangladesh to paint graffiti of Sharif Osman Hadi and spread his words and messages in every neighbourhood, school, college, madrasa, and university.
