A man has been injured after being shot by miscreants in the capital’s Jurain area.
The incident occurred at around 5:15pm on Saturday on the road in front of Dolphin School in the Jurain Chairman Bari area.
The victim has been identified as 30-year-old Shahin Bepari. He has been admitted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital in critical condition.
Kadomtali police station Officer-in-Charge Md Ayub confirmed the incident to Dhaka Tribune.
He said that Shahin has a drug-related case filed against him and that his permanent address is in Shariatpur. A gunfight reportedly broke out among drug dealers, during which Shahin was injured.
Rahatul Islam Hira and Md Khorshed Alam, two passersby who rescued and took him to the hospital, said they found the man lying on the road in front of Dolphin School that evening.
He was bleeding heavily from the head. They, along with a few others, placed him in an autorickshaw and rushed him to the hospital.
