A six-storey building has collapsed in Kasaituli, Armanitola, following a moderate earthquake in the capital.
The quake, which struck from 10:38 to 10:39am on Friday, was felt across Dhaka and several other regions of the country.
Khaleda Yasmin, the duty officer at the Fire Service Control Room, said that firefighters rushed to the scene after receiving reports of a six-storey building collapse in Kasaituli, Armanitola, and have begun operations there. No casualties have been reported so far, she said.
She added that reports have also come in from various parts of Dhaka, including the office of the chief adviser, about buildings tilting, cracks appearing, and plaster falling off due to the earthquake.
