The Dhaka University authorities have formed an inquiry committee to investigate the incident of threats of “gang rape” issued against BM Fahmida Alam, a candidate for the Liberation War and Democratic Movement post in the Dhaka University Central Students’ Union (Ducsu) elections.

The development comes after the Dhaka University unit of Islami Chhatra Shibir filed a writ petition with the High Court challenging the scrutiny of its candidacy.

The three-member committee is headed by Assistant Proctor Mohammad Mahbub Quaisar, with Assistant Proctor Shehreen Amin Bhuiyan and Md Rezaul Karim Sohag as members.
