The death toll from a fire caused by a gas leak at a house in Aftabnagar, Badda, earlier this month has risen to three with the death of another person.
Tofazzal Hossain, 45, one of the five members of a family who had sustained burns, died around 5:30am while undergoing treatment at the National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery, confirmed Dr Shawon Bin Rahman, resident surgeon at the institute.
He said that 80% of Tofazzal’s body had been burnt.
Earlier, Tofazzal’s wife and one of his daughters died from their injuries.
The condition of their two other daughters remains critical.
The injured were admitted in critical condition to the National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery in Dhaka following the incident around 12:30am on Saturday.
