Just a few days before Eid-ul-Fitr, clothing brand outlets are drawing large crowds, creating a festive shopping frenzy.
In Banasree, one of the capital’s major residential areas, renowned brands like SaRa, Le Reve, Aarong, Country Boy Lifestyle, Easy, and Artisan are experiencing a surge in customers.
With the rising demand, sales representatives are busy catering to eager shoppers, adding to the lively atmosphere.
A field visit to various outlets this week by this correspondent revealed this scenario.
The showroom of Aarong, a well-known clothing brand across the country, was seen overflowing with customers.
Sales representative Jihadul Islam Jihad at Aarong, said: “Sales at our outlet have been excellent this Eid. Our panjabi stock has already run out, and new stock is on the way.”
Jihad added: “Besides panjabis, we have a wide range of children's clothing and sarees. Our saree collection starts from Tk1,300 and goes up to over Tk1 lakh. Sales are going well.”
When asked why customers prefer Aarong, he said: “Customers trust our outlet because they find comfort and quality in our products, which is why demand remains high.”
Hafizur Rahman, an official at a private bank who came to shop at Aarong, said: “Aarong is always at the top of our list of preferred brands. That’s why I came here. Today is the first day I’ve come out for Eid shopping. I plan to buy panjabis for myself and my son. Aarong's panjabis are my favorite, and I usually buy them for Eid.”
Opposite Aarong is another brand outlet, Country Boy Lifestyle, where a large crowd was also observed.
The outlet's manager, Bappi Das, said: “Sales for this Eid are not bad; things are going well. However, compared to previous Eids, it seems a bit lower. But since there’s still time, sales are expected to increase.”
Bappi added: “Our shirts and children’s clothes are selling the most.”
At SaRa’s outlet, a variety of panjabis, shirts, and women's clothing were on display.
SaRa sales representative Bakhtiar said: “Our panjabis are in high demand, especially the ones with rural checkered patterns. We have collections for all ages.”
He added: “Shirts are also selling well.”
Another sales representative at the same outlet, Ranjana, said: “Sarees, three-pieces, tops, jeans, kaftans, western wear, one-piece kamiz, and family sets are all selling well. Based on our Eid sales so far, things are going well.”
A customer named Hasibur Rahman said: “SaRa’s clothing is of excellent quality. We’re here to buy panjabis, and they look quite nice.”
Another customer, Arafat, said: “I plan to buy a panjabi and a shirt. I visited two outlets before coming here. I like the collection, and the prices are not too high. Overall, I’m satisfied.”
At Artisan, sales representative Ahmed Saeed said: “Sales are going well this Eid. Our men's T-shirts and jeans are selling the most. We have clothing for all ages, but T-shirts are in the highest demand.”
When asked about customer footfall, Saeed said: “People are coming in varying numbers. It’s neither significantly lower nor higher than expected; it's somewhere in between.”
The manager of Easy, Raqib, said: “Our panjabis and T-shirts are selling the most. The prices are not excessively high. Given the Eid market, I wouldn’t say sales are bad; things are going quite well.”
Jayyif Ahmed, a student from East West University who came to shop at Easy, said: “I came mainly to buy T-shirts. The quality here is good, and the prices are reasonable. Some of my friends also bought from here, which is why I decided to come too.”
