On the third day of Eid travel on Wednesday, a total of 69 trains will depart from Dhaka for various destinations across the country, according to Station Manager Md Shahadat Hossain.
Among them, 43 are intercity trains, while 26 are mail and commuter trains, he said.
He shared this information during his regular press briefing in his office at the Kamalapur railway station.
Shahadat Hossain said: "All trains have departed on time today, except for the Titas Commuter Train, which started its journey 45 minutes late. The train was delayed in arriving at the station, causing a slight delay in departure."
The station manager further said that standing tickets are being issued two hours before departure for passengers' convenience.
Additionally, special trains will be introduced from Thursday, he said.
Confirming that all necessary preparations for passenger service have been completed, he added: "Security measures have been strengthened. Ticket verification and checking have been tightened to ensure a smooth journey from the station to the destination."
