Abdul Kader and Mohir Alam have been appointed to lead the Dhaka University (DU) branch of the newly launched "Bangladesh Gonotantrik Chhatra Songshod," a student organization founded by the former coordinators of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement.
The name was announced at a press conference on Wednesday at Dhaka University’s (DU) Madhur Canteen.
In addition to the central committee of the organization, the DU committee was also revealed on Wednesday.
Other key leaders of the DU committee include Limon Mahmud Hasan as senior joint convener, Al Amin Sorkar as senior joint general secretary, Hasib Al Islam as chief organizer, and Rafiya Rehnuma Hridoy as the spokesperson.
The leaders have said that the organization's policies will focus on "Students first" and "Bangladesh first."
They aim to work in the best interests of students and citizens.
The new student organization will not engage in sycophantic behavior nor implement the agenda of any "mother party."
Leadership within the organization will be chosen through a democratic process.
