51 arrested, including teen gang members in Dhaka

In a joint forces operation aimed at maintaining law and order, the Bangladesh Army has arrested 51 individuals, including members of teen gangs.

Assistant Director of the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Rashedul Alam Khan, shared this information through a press release on Wednesday.

According to the press release, the Bangladesh Army is working across the country with professionalism to ensure the safety of public life and property, maintain overall security and law and order, prevent unlawful activities, and uphold the rule of law amid the current situation.

Following this, based on specific intelligence reports, several joint operations were conducted on February 25 and 26 by units under the 6th Independent ADA Brigade and the 46th Independent Infantry Brigade of the Army, in coordination with RAB and local police stations.

The operations took place in Mohammadpur-Adabor, Azimpur, Dhaka College, Khilkhet, Uttara, Abdullahpur Bus Stand, Dakshin Khan, and Nikunja areas.

During these operations the leader of the teen gang “Kutty Group”, Russell, and his brother “Brother Bush” (Sabbir), along with other teen gang members, muggers, drug dealers, and armed criminals, were caught red-handed. A total of 51 criminals were arrested, according to the press release.

During the raids, illegal locally-made weapons and various types of drugs were seized. The detainees, along with the confiscated items, have been handed over to the respective police stations for further interrogation and legal proceedings.

The Bangladesh Army has assured that such operations will continue to ensure stability in the country’s law and order situation.

The press release also urged the general public to report any suspicious activities to the nearest army camp.
