A case has been filed regarding the attack on a group of ethnic minority students in front of the National Curriculum and Textbook Board (NCTB) in Dhaka's Motijheel area, with approximately 300 unidentified individuals listed as accused.
On Friday morning, Jagdish Chakma, president of the Hill Students' Council Dhaka Metropolitan branch filed the case at Motijheel police station.
The First Information Report (FIR) said that on the morning of Wednesday, a peaceful rally, which started at the Raju Memorial Sculpture on Dhaka University campus as part of a pre-announced program, marched to the NCTB building in Motijheel.
There, under the Motijheel Metro Rail Station, individuals allegedly associated with a group under the banner of "Students for Sovereignty" ambushed them with sticks, batons, and improvised weapons in a premeditated attack.
As a result, 15 individuals from the rally sustained serious injuries.
Earlier, on Wednesday, a group under the banner of "Aggrieved Indigenous Students and People" organized a protest rally at the Raju Sculpture, followed by an attempted blockade of the NCTB office in Motijheel.
Clashes subsequently erupted between them and members of the group claiming to represent "Students for Sovereignty," during which several individuals, including women from both sides, were injured and hospitalized at Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
On Thursday, police arrested two individuals, Md Abbas and Arif Al Khabir, in connection with the incident.
