Mystery surrounds dog's burned body found in Secretariat fire

A dead dog was discovered on the seventh floor of the burned Building 7 of the Secretariat on Thursday, sparking questions and raising suspicions about its presence in such a high-security complex.

Former additional secretary Mahbub Kabir Milon expressed his concerns in a Facebook post, saying: “Many files have burned, and more may mysteriously disappear. The loss of critical ministry files is catastrophic and irreversible.

“In my 30 years of service, I never saw a dog inside the Secretariat. How did it end up on the seventh floor? This raises serious questions about security.”

Meanwhile, Sarjis Alam, chief organizer of the Jatiya Nagorik Committee, said during a press conference in Thakurgaon that the incident might involve a conspiracy to destabilize the country.

“The presence of the dog inside the Secretariat is suspicious. We must observe and counter any attempts to create instability.”

Following the fire, a forensic team from the police visited the site in the afternoon.

The charred body of the dog was sent for forensic analysis to determine how it had ended up there.

Earlier, advisers from multiple ministries inspected the site.

The fire broke out at 1:52am, according to the fire service.

Firefighters eventually brought the fire under control at around 8am.

The presence of the dog and the circumstances surrounding the fire continue to fuel speculation, as officials investigate the cause and potential implications of the incident.
