Former Director General of the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB), Lieutenant General (Retd) Md Moinul Islam and his wife were not allowed to travel abroad.

They went to Shahjalal International Airport on Tuesday to travel to Canada.

An immigration police officer informed Prothom Alo that Moinul Islam had arrived at the airport with his wife to fly to Canada but was stopped.

Later, Golam Rasul, the head of the Special Branch of Police, told Prothom Alo that Moinul Islam was attempting to travel to Toronto (a city in Canada).

He was told that he must cooperate with the commission formed to investigate the Pilkhana massacre, providing them with the necessary information before traveling abroad.

He was not detained.

Later, the name of the BDR was changed to BGB, and the uniform of the force was also modified.
