Owner among two arrested following Uttara restaurant fire

Police arrested the owner of Love Leen Bangla Restaurant and another individual in connection with a fire that occurred at the restaurant.
 
Sub-Inspector Mahmudul Hasan of Uttara West police station confirmed the matter on Saturday.
 

The SI said a case has already been registered, and the owner of Love Leen Bangla Restaurant has been arrested.

The second individual was apprehended for allegedly attempting to destroy evidence.

Both will be presented in court.

Earlier, on Friday, a fire broke out at Love Leen Bangla Restaurant in Uttara's Sector 12 around 10:30am.

It took 12 fire service units until 2pm to bring the blaze under control.

A five-member committee has been formed to investigate the incident, according to the fire service.

Alam Hossain, senior station officer of Uttara Fire Service and Civil Defence, said that the fire-affected restaurant had been operating without approval for its fire safety plan and lacked adequate firefighting equipment.
