Workers have blocked the road at Sat Rasta in Tejgaon in protest against the arrest of the president of the Tejgaon Truck Driver Owners Association.
The blockade took place around 7:00pm on Tuesday.
They have warned that they will not clear the road until the president is released.
The Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Tejgaon Industrial Area Police Station, Gazi Shamimur Rahman, said: "A labour leader has been arrested. He had a case filed against him at Paltan police station, and he was arrested in connection with that case. In protest, truck workers and Awami League affiliates have blocked the road at Sat Rasta."
