The Airport Armed Police Battalion (APBn) arrested four people, including members of the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) and Bangladesh Police while they were allegedly attempting to flee after seizing goods from a man at the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka.
The incident occurred at 8pm on Monday when the perpetrators entered the airport and attempted to snatch belongings from a man named Md Nazmul outside the canopy area.
A private car was also seized.
The arrested individuals are Sergeant Iqbal, Md Maksud, Pushidar Hossain, and Asadul Haque.
Among the arrested, Sergeant Iqbal and Md Maksud are members of the army, both currently serving in RAB, as confirmed.
Police Constable Pusidar Hossain is currently serving in the Dhaka Metropolitan Police.
The other arrested individual, Md. Asadul Haque identified himself as a businessman.
A case has been filed against them at the Airport police station.
Sources indicate that the arrested individuals had been snatching valuable items from passengers and their companions in and around the airport for a long time using this same method.
