The authorities of Dr Mahbubur Rahman Mollah College (DMRC) have claimed that three of their students were killed during clashes with students of Kabi Nazrul Government College and Suhrawardy College.
However, the names and identities of the deceased have not been disclosed, nor has it been clarified whether their bodies are at the college or a hospital. Police have yet to comment on the matter.
A statement signed by the college’s Managing Director Ashraf Samir was issued to the media at 2:30pm on Monday, claiming the deaths of three students.
The statement also reported that over a hundred students and teachers were injured, with many in critical condition. Some are reportedly under intensive medical care.
The college's statement reads: "Dr Mahbubur Rahman Mollah College expresses profound sorrow and anger over the brutal attack on our institution today. Under the banner of so-called 'seven college' students, an external group of miscreants entered the campus and caused massive destruction. Three students were brutally killed in this attack, and over a hundred students and teachers were injured. Many of the injured are in critical condition, with some under intensive care."
