DU to launch probe after hijab placed on female figure of Raju Memorial Sculpture

A group of unidentified youth placed a hijab on the female figure of the Raju Memorial Sculpture at Dhaka University late on Sunday, prompting the university administration to announce the formation of an investigation committee to identify those involved.

According to witnesses, several youths, wearing masks, arrived on motorbikes, placed the hijab on the sculpture, and quickly left.

However, their identities remain unknown.

Upon learning of the incident, the proctorial team went to the site at night and removed the hijab.

On Monday morning, DU Proctor Saifuddin Ahmed said the team removed the hijab immediately after arriving. He added that an investigation committee would be formed to determine who was responsible and why this act was carried out.

When asked about the timing of the investigation committee's formation, he stated that it would be set up by Monday afternoon, and everyone would be informed accordingly.
