Retired justice of the Appellate Division AHM Shamsuddin Chowdhury Manik has been shown arrested in six separate cases lodged over murders during the recent student movement.
The court of Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Md Zaki Al Farabi granted the applications for showing Manik arrested in the cases after a hearing on Wednesday.
Of the six cases, four were filed with Badda police station, one with Lalbagh police station and another with Adabor police station.
The former justice was detained by the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) at a banana orchard in Kanaighat upazila of Sylhet near the border with India as he was trying to flee the country on August 23.
He was turned over to Kanaighat police the next day.
Sylhet Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Anjan Kanti Das on September 17 granted bail to Manik in a case filed over his illegal intrusion attempt into India.
He was later flown to Dhaka by a helicopter of the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB).
