A bus named "Shongkhoneel", used for transporting Dhaka College students was vandalized on Sunday, allegedly by students from Dhanmondi Ideal College.
In response, Dhaka College students blocked the road at Science Lab intersection, though traffic flow on Mirpur Road has now returned to normal.
The incident occurred on Sunday, at around noon on Mirpur Road.
According to eyewitnesses, as the 'Shongkhoneel' bus passed Science Lab, it was suddenly attacked by individuals dressed in the uniform of Ideal College.
The bus, which also had teachers on board, was pelted with bricks, injuring several students and the driver.
This is not the first altercation between the two groups.
Last Tuesday, a clash occurred in the Science Lab area between students of Dhaka College and Dhanmondi Ideal College, leaving at least 15 people injured.
Following that incident, Dhaka College students removed the nameplate of Ideal College.
As of the latest reports, police and representatives from both Dhaka College and Ideal College, including students and teachers, are engaged in a meeting to resolve the ongoing tensions.
The meeting is being facilitated by officers from New Market and Dhanmondi police stations.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mohsin Uddin of New Market police station said: "We are in discussions to resolve the conflict between the two colleges. The meeting is still ongoing, and we hope to reach a reasonable solution soon."
