National Botanical Garden entry fees reduced following adviser’s directive

Acting on the directive of Syeda Rizwana Hasan, the adviser for the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, authorities have reduced the entry fees for the National Botanical Garden in Mirpur, Dhaka.

The notification, issued by the ministry on Wednesday in the public interest, will take immediate effect.

The entry fee for individuals above 12 years has been reduced from Tk100 to Tk30. For children under 12, the previous fee was Tk50. Now, the fee for children aged 6-12 is set at Tk15, while children aged 0-5 can enter for free.

For groups of up to 100 students from educational institutions, the entry fee is Tk1,000, and for groups of 101-200 students, it is Tk1,500. Foreign tourists will be charged an entry fee of Tk500 or its equivalent US dollars.

Additionally, an annual entry card for morning walks has been set at Tk500 per person. Cardholders can visit the garden from 6:30am to 9:30am between November and March and from 6am to 9am AM between April and October.

In case of loss or renewal of the card, a fee of Tk200 will be required for a new card.

A prior notification issued on April 21 regarding the revised entry fee for the National Botanical Garden had elicited negative public reactions. Taking this into account, the adviser instructed the relevant authorities to reconsider and adjust the fees.
