The Jagannath University Band Music Association is organizing a concert on the Science Building premises to raise funds for the flood victims, where 11 bands will perform for free.
The ticket price for the show, titled “Concert for Flood Victims”, has been fixed at Tk250.
Dipty Chowdhury, a student of the Anthropology Department of the university and talk show presenter, will moderate the function, which will begin at 3pm.
The bands that will perform at the concert are Lineup, Titleless, Sonar Bangla Circus, Highway, Wound, Relative, Chander Gari, Averse of Bangladesh, Art of Heaven, Shepherd, AK Rahul & Black Zang.
JnU Band Music Association President Faisal Kabir told Dhaka Tribune: “Currently, our country is going through a terrible crisis. I strongly condemn the conspiracy going on in the international arena for this man-made disaster. We are singers. Music is our only source of income. If we can do anything in this crisis, it is through music.”
Association’s General Secretary Mohiuddin Al Arabi said: "A group of our musicians went to Feni on Monday. So, we postponed the concert by a day."
He said that they had already sold many tickets. “This is the time to help the flood victims as much as possible. Now is the time for everyone to work together. Our country is in extreme crisis. We are always ready to save our country from danger in any difficult situation,” he added.
