A woman has been killed after being hit by an unidentified vehicle near the Khilkhet Elevated Express Bridge in Dhaka.
The incident took place on Sunday morning.
The deceased has been identified initially as Zulekha. However, efforts are being made through fingerprints to determine her real identity.
Passersby saw the deceased lying under the Khilkhet Elevated Express Bridge, rescued her, and took her to a local hospital.
Later, she was taken to the emergency department of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) at around 6am where doctors declared her dead.
Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP)'s Dhaka airport police station Sub-Inspector Nargis Sultana confirmed the matter.
The body has been kept at the DMCH morgue for autopsy.
