A fire that broke out at a private bank on Nawabpur Road in Dhaka’s Gulistan early on Monday has been extinguished.
Anwarul Islam, warehouse inspector of the fire service, said the fire started at the Al-Arafah Islami Bank Limited branch on the first floor of a three-storey building at around 12:50am.
Five firefighting units from the nearby station rushed to the spot and brought the fire under control by about 1:55am and fully put it out at around 2:10am, reports UNB.
The reason behind the blaze and the damage caused by it could not be known immediately, he said, adding that there were no casualties.
