At least three people injured in the fire incident on the Benapole Express train in the capital’s Gopibagh are undergoing treatment at the Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery on Friday.
The injured are Dr Koushik Biswas, 35, Asif Md Khan, 30, and Nafis Alam, 22.
At least four people were burned to death in the fire which was reported on 9:05pm on Friday.
Seven firefighting units brought the blaze under control at 10:20pm, said Rakibul Hasan, duty officer of Fire Service and Civil Defence.
At least five compartments of the train have been set ablaze by miscreants.
Ashraf Hossain, sub-inspector of Dhaka Railway Police Station, said they received information about the fire from the emergency service number 999 around 9:07pm.
Police officials feared that people could be trapped inside.
