Inspector General of Police (IGP) Chowdhury Abdullah Al-Mamun has said IP (internet protocol) cameras are being installed at railway stations and other strategic places to prevent sabotage on trains.
“We have installed IP cameras at many places. We will try to complete the work within a week,” the police chief said on Sunday while talking to journalists at Kakrail Church about security measures taken for Christmas.
“Anti-election parties are carrying out sabotage because their programs lack public support. We are working with public support. The general public, political figures and intelligence agencies are working together.
“The law and order situation is under control. Some sabotage is occurring still, but the general public is catching the saboteurs and turning them over to us.”
In response to another question, he said: "We are working in accordance with the Election Commission’s instructions to maintain order during the election.”
