Police recovered the body of an unidentified man from the footpath in front of Suhrawardy Udyan gate next to Dhaka University’s Student-Teacher Centre (TSC) in Dhaka.
The deceased was wearing a white and black check lungi and shirt.
Shahbag police station Sub-Inspector (SI) Neel Kamal confirmed the information and said that at around 2am on Saturday, the National Emergency Service number 999 received a report that an unidentified person was lying unconscious.
He was rescued from there and brought to the emergency department of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) at around 3:30am where the doctor on duty declared him dead.
He also said that no injury marks were found on his body. It is initially believed that he may have died due to illness. However, the exact cause of death can be said after getting the autopsy report.
The body has been kept at DMCH morgue for post-mortem. Efforts are on to find out his identity, said the SI.
