Two buses set ablaze in Dhaka’s Gulistan amid BNP blockade

Two buses of Bahon Paribahan were set on fire in the Gulistan area of Dhaka in the span of a couple of hours on Tuesday, the first day of the 11th blockade called by the BNP and its like-minded parties.

Fire Service and Civil Defence Media Officer Anwar Hossain said miscreants set fire to one of the buses in front of the police box under the Hanif flyover in Gulistan.

After receiving the information, two units from the local fire station reached the spot at 12:25pm to put out the fire, he added.

Earlier at around 10:00am, miscreants torched a bus of the same company near the stadium, adjacent to the underground market, in Gulistan.

Till now there has been no report of any casualties in any of the arson attacks.

This is the 11th in a series of blockades enforced by the BNP and its allies since October 31, demanding the resignation of the Awami League government, cancellation of the schedule for the 12th national election, and other issues.
