Three Awami League associate bodies sell vegetables

A joint initiative of Jubo League, Swechasebak League and Chhatra League has launched a vegetable selling program at six locations in the capital by purchasing vegetables directly from the farmers.

Jubo League Chairman Sheikh Fazle Shams Parash inaugurated the program near the Mirpur Bangla College on Tuesday.

At this time, he said: “All the dishonest businessmen have to be brought under the law. From now onward, vegetables will be bought directly from farmers' fields and will be sold at a fair price in the capital. This program will continue regularly.”

He added: “According to Sheikh Hasina's instructions, production needs to be increased. Unscrupulous traders should be brought under punishment. Almost all countries are affected by inflation due to global political unrest. A group of people who are against the country is trying to harm the people by using this opportunity.”

Swechasebak League President Gazi Mezbah Hossain Sacchu said: “We are buying vegetables from the farmers at a fair price and selling those to the common people as per the instructions of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. This arrangement has been made to end the syndicate and for the benefit of the farmers and the common people.”

Chhatra League President Saddam Hossain said: “Due to various reasons including anarchy of middlemen, price inflation, the agricultural products are being sold at high price. We are buying the vegetables directly from the farmers' fields to give relief to the residents of the capital. In the last few years, there has been a development revolution in Bangladesh under the foresight of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.”
