One person was killed and two others were injured when a truck overturned and fell on a car in the Wari area of Dhaka late on Wednesday.
The deceased was the driver of the car, Md Mohiuddin Mal, 32.
Wari Police Station Sub-Inspector (SI) Neshar Uddin said the truck, carrying steel sheets, crushed the car on the road in front of a shopping mall next to Mayor Mohammad Hanif Flyover at night, killing the driver on the spot.
Two passengers of the car suffered minor injuries and received first aid, he added.
The driver’s body was sent to the Dhaka Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy.
The police seized the truck, but its driver managed to flee the area. Meanwhile, the car was recovered and taken to the police station.
