The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has said that the people involved in anti-state sabotage activities are taking shelters in five-star hotels or various hotels of the capital to avoid arrest.
Commander Khandaker Al Moin, director of the Law and Media Branch of RAB said: “They are being pampered. We will take action against those who are giving such an opportunity to vandals.”
He said these while talking to reporters at Uttara RAB headquarters in the capital on Thursday.
The RAB official said: "Legal action will be taken against anyone who has knowingly sheltered someone in a five-star hotel. Intelligence surveillance is ongoing to bring those who are supporting and financing the terrorists under the law. Those who are working from behind are being investigated. How they came to the five-star hotel, how they got the room, these things are being looked into and questioned. The detectives are also looking into how they were planning sabotage and violence while sitting in a five-star hotel.”
Earlier, RAB-11 raided the five-star Westin Hotel in the capital's Gulshan area early Thursday and arrested 10 people.
They were arrested in the incident of vandalism, violence, and assaulting policemen on the highway in Araihazaar of Narayanganj on Tuesday.
Khandaker Al Moin said that the accused have been arrested after identifying them through the CCTV footage, media footage, case report and related information.
In the initial interrogation, they gave important information about the assault on policemen and vandalism in the Panchrukhi area of Araihajar, he said.
Stating that the saboteurs wanted to create a frightening situation, he said: "From the primary intelligence information, we know that they intended to create chaos. There, of course, law enforcement is their target.”
