Ashraful Alom, better known on social media as Hero Alom, went to the Detective Branch headquarters on the capital’s Minto Road on Wednesday to discuss a death threat he had received.
He entered the DB building along with two others around 1:20pm.
Hero Alom claimed that someone threatened to kill him, adding that he will talk to senior DB officials about his security concerns.
Before entering the DB office, Hero Alom said: “On Monday at 8:52pm, someone demanded extortion money from me over the phone. I filed a general diary at Hatirjheel police station on Tuesday about this incident. But then Hatirjheel police did not take any action. I phoned them several times. They did not answer my calls. So today I am going to meet DB officers.”
“I would request senior officials of the DB to bring the accused under the law and ensure exemplary punishment.”
