ULAB holds special exhibition of documentary film ‘Bay of Blood’

Bangladesh Liberation War Museum and University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh (ULAB) on Sunday jointly organized a special exhibition of the documentary film “Bay of Blood,” made on the massacres during the Liberation War.

The exhibition was held in the auditorium of the Research Building of ULAB in Dhanmondi, reads a press release. 

ULAB Pro-Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Jude William Genillo delivered the welcome address on the occasion. 

Indian filmmaker Krishnendu Bose's documentary “Bay of Blood” captures the background history of the Partition of India in 1947 and the subsequent Bangladesh Liberation War. 

In addition, the documentary states that the massacres and atrocities on women during the Liberation War were not only a manifestation of the overzealous brutality of some Pakistani soldiers but also a well-planned military operation.

Former chairman of UGC Prof Abdul Mannan, historian Prof Muntasir Mamun, Liberation War researcher and writer Mofidul Haque, archaeology researcher Prof Shahnaj Husne Jahan, and others were present at the exhibition. 

At the end of the screening, Krishnendu Bose in his speech highlighted the various aspects of his four years of experience in making the film.
