Dhaka Deputy Commissioner (DC) Mohammad Mominur Rahman handed over the allotment letter to the organization's Founder and Chairman Md Arifur Rahman on Thursday.

Deputy Commissioner said “Bhalo Kajer Hotel” is a humanitarian initiative, and the district administration will always stand by such good works.

Arifur Rahman said: "Today feels like a dream to me. In the beginning, when we were cooking on the streets in Kamalapur, we were thrown out. We started working on rent. Now we've got a place.”

He said since the beginning of the initiative, people have mocked them as they do not gain much profit from the work they do. “But you don't have to look for profit in everything,” said Rahman.

Bhalo Kajer Hotel is designed for the rootless, helpless, and street children, who cannot afford to eat on a daily basis.

Unlike other restaurants in Dhaka, and throughout the world, “Bhalo Kajer Hotel”, does not bill its guests. Rather, it runs on one condition, which is -- to receive a free meal, one must do one good deed a day.
