The ‘Ultimate Rock Fest 2023,' initially scheduled for Friday at the International Convention Center Bashundhara (ICCB), has been postponed due to the rescheduling of political rallies by the Awami League's associate organizations and the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), shifting from Thursday to Friday, leading to possible safety concerns.
The event organizers, Oplly announced the postponement through a Facebook post early Thursday at 12:45am.
"We had forged ahead with the Ultimate Rock Fest 2023, originally scheduled for July 28, 2023, at ICCB Hall-4, overcoming numerous obstacles. However, due to the current volatile political situation, the show must be postponed. Your safety is our utmost priority,” the post read.
“Given the right circumstances, we promise to come back with an event even grander, with varied attractions. Updates regarding the rescheduled concert and a possible new date will be announced soon. We assure you that the funds spent on ticket purchases will be refunded within the next 7 working days,” the post added.
The much anticipated concert, whose tickets had already been sold out, had a stellar lineup that included Aurthohin, Warfaze, Shironamhin, Ashes, Avoid Rafa, Blue Jeans, Apekkhik, AK Rahul and ASEIS.
Adnan Chowdhury, co-founder of Oplly, informed that the concert could possibly be held in September.
