An elderly woman sustained injuries while getting off a bus as a garbage truck of the Dhaka North City Corporation bumped into the vehicle in Dhaka’s Mohammadpur area on Thursday.
The injured person is sixty-five-year-old Arzu Begum.
The sexagenarian sustained a back injury and was admitted to Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College Hospital for treatment, Sub-Inspector Nazmul Hasan of Mohammadpur police station said.
Police later seized the truck of the Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) and took its driver, Ratan, into custody for questioning.
City corporation garbage trucks became the talk of the town following the recent killings of two persons by such vehicles.
A Notre Dame College student died when a Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) garbage truck hit him in Dhaka’s Gulistan on November 24.
