University of Liberate Arts Bangladesh (ULAB) paid homage to language martyrs by placing a wreath at the Shaheed Minar at its permanent campus on Tuesday morning.
At this time, a minute of silence was also observed to commemorate the sacrifice of the language martyrs, reads a press release issued Wednesday.
The keynote speaker, Abdul Mannan, former chairman of UGC and professor at ULAB, shared his emotion and devotion to Bangla language and called upon the young generation to always strive to maintain the dignity of Bangla language.
ULAB Treasurer Prof Milan Kuma Bhattacharjee gave the opening speech while ULAB registrar, deans, heads of departments, faculty members, administrative officers and students were present.
