The shooting incident at the Gulshan outlet of Gloria Jean's coffee shop that left two people injured took place over an erroneous money transaction, police said on Sunday.
Md Abdul Ahad, deputy commissioner of DMP's Gulshan Division said a businessman in Gulshan sent Tk75,000 to a number through mobile financial service bKash. However, the number was wrong.
Swecchasebak League's Gulshan branch president Ahidul Mintu found the businessman in the Gulshan market and attacked him, reports Bangla Tribune.
Later, a clash erupted between the shop owners of that market and the leader of Swecchasebak League.
At that time, Ahidul fired blanks with a licensed pistol to disperse the crowd. However, the bullets hit the tiles and wounded two people including a pedestrian and a rickshaw puller.
Later, both Ahidul and the businessman, Aminul, were taken into police custody at Gulshan police station.

In the initial investigation, it was founded that the clash happened centring a fraud gang that uses the mobile money transfer service bKash.
A businessman from Gulshan Market is suspected to be involved in this fraud, police said.
The deputy police commissioner of DMP's Gulshan Division said it is being investigated whether the shooting was just based on the money transaction or not.
Both Ahidul and Aminul are being interrogated, he added.
