A student of Dhaka University died after falling from a balcony of a building of Jagannath Hall on Wednesday morning.
The deceased was Limon Kumar Roy, a third-year student of the Institute of Education and Research (IER) hailing from Rangpur.
He was a resident of Santosh Chandra Bhattacharyya building of the hall.
Dr Mihir Lal Saha, provost of the hall, confirmed the matter.
Limon sustained critical injuries after falling from the balcony around 10am, said the provost.
He was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH), where the doctor on duty declared him dead around 10:30am, said Mihir Lal.
Limon's hall mates said they are not sure if it was an accident, adding that he might have committed suicide.
