The government has decided to treat dengue patients at the Dhaka North City Corporation's (DNCC) Covid-19 dedicated hospital amid a surge in the number of patients.
This decision was taken at a meeting of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on Saturday at around 10:30pm, Bangla Tribune reported.
"We have received the instructions, but everyone will be officially informed today (Sunday),” DNCC Covid-19 Dedicated Hospital Director Brigadier General AKM Shafiqur Rahman said.
In the 24 hours till Sunday morning, Bangladesh logged another death from dengue taking the toll to 113.
The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) said another 1,034 patients, highest in a single day this year, were hospitalized with the viral fever during the same period.
With the new cases, the total number of dengue patients this year rose to 31,063 while some 27,458 patients were released from the hospitals.
