A total of 15 e-gates were placed at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka on Tuesday.
Of the gates, 12 are in the departure area and three in the arrival area, Group Captain Muhammed Kamrul Islam said in a statement.
In addition, six e-gates have been set up at Shah Amanat International Airport in Chittagong and six at MAG Osmani International Airport in Sylhet.
On Monday, immigration was successfully completed through an e-gate on a trial basis at the Dhaka airport while arrangements were made to fully introduce e-gates for passengers yesterday.
Holders of e-passports can cross the e-gates at the end of verification in 18 seconds.
Monirul Islam, additional inspector general of police, and Brig Gen Sadat, project director, observed the immigration process.
