The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of Police on Thursday arrested three persons including an alleged kingpin of a fake contracting agency on charges of swindling Tk40 crore from different persons and suppliers.
The arrestees are Alamgir Hossain, the chairman Al-Taqdir International, Shafiqul Islam, the project director, and Imran Hossain, director (admin).
Six mobile phones, cheque books of different banks, fake work-order copies, copies of stamped agreement with suppliers and other document were seized from their possession.
CID Additional DIG Imam Hossain disclosed the information at a press briefing at its Headquarters at Malibagh in the capital.
The criminals were nabbed in separate drives in Khilgaon and Gulshan areas of the capital.
