The Department of Narcotics Control (DNC) busted a fake liquor racket and made three arrests in the capital’s Rampura on Thursday.
Owner of the factory Kazi Ashrafuzzaman alias Mosharraf, 35, and his accomplices Abul Khayer Chowdhury, 69, and Bhuiyan, 36, were arrested after a raid at a house where they made adulterated liquor, said Md Rasheduzzaman, deputy director of Dhaka Metro (North) of DNC at a media call.
About 23 bottles of foreign liquor brands and labels were seized from them, including brewing materials, such as essence and charcoal powder.
“The gang has been putting people’s lives in danger by selling adulterated local and foreign liquor,” the official said.
