A third grader has been sexually abused allegedly by her house tutor in the capital’s Mirpur area.
The tutor Shawkat Hossain, also an official of Agrani Bank, sexually abused the girl when he came to teach her at her home around 10pm on Saturday, said the child’s mother.
The mother said the child went to her mother crying shortly after the house tutor arrived as she was bleeding. She also told her mother about the abuse.
The child was admitted to the One-Stop Crisis Centre at Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) in the small hours of Sunday, said Inspector Bachchu Mia, in-charge of DMCH outpost.
Police arrested Shawkat in this regard. Steps are being taken to file a case against the tutor, said the child’s mother.
