A 6-year-old died on Tuesday after falling off a seven-storey roof while flying a kite in Gandaria in old Dhaka.
The deceased was identified as Jisan Hossain Jim.
Md. Bachchu Mia, in-charge inspector of DMCH police outpost, confirmed the incident and said the body had been kept in the Dhaka Medical College Hospital morgue.
According to the mother of the deceased, Jorina Begum, she works on the second floor of the seven-storey Faridabad Boishakh Housing building.
She would occasionally bring Jisan with her where he would fly kites from the roof of the building. Later when she heard the news of a child lying under the building, she and some locals rushed Jisan to the hospital in critical condition.
In another incident, a boy fell and injured himself on the third-floor sun shade.
The as-yet-unnamed boy fell from a five storey building in Fulchhari upazila of Gaibandha district.
On the other hand, a two-and-a-half-year-old fell from the roof of a five-storey building in the capital's Sayedabad Basant Gali at around 2:30pm.
The injured child was identified as Rafia Akter.
Rafia was playing with other children when she was trapped on the sun shade on the third floor after falling from the roof.
She was rescued and taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital for advanced treatment.
