Businessman murdered in Badda over trifling issue

A businessman was killed by being thrown from the sixth floor of the elevator in Badda area of the capital on Friday night over a trifling issue of watering plants. 

The deceased was identified as Apu Islam, 35, a sand businessman, son of late Sohrab Alam.  

The deceased's uncle Din Islam alleged that when Apu was watering his plants at his residence at Satarkul Uttarpara, at that time water was splashed on some students.

Shahadat Master, Morshed, Sajjad, and their tenants three Sonet, Mehedi, Shahjahan got angry with him.

Later, they all took Apu Islam to the under-construction building to beat him, said Din Islam.

At one stage, they threw him from the six-storey building, he added. 

Badda police station Inspector (Investigation) Abdur Rouf said that six people have been arrested in this incident.

He said the matter is under investigation.

Apu Islam was rescued with serious injuries and taken to Ever Care Hospital at Bashundhara where the duty doctor declared him dead, he added. 

Badda police station Sub-Inspector Abdus Shakur said after receiving the news, his body was recovered from the emergency department of Ever Care Hospital and sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) morgue for autopsy on Saturday morning.

He said that over previous enmity, the supporters of his rival group took him to the seven-storey under-construction building of Satarkul Shantipara Master Complex and threw him down from the sixth floor through the lift.
