Kazi Nabil Ahmed, the lawmaker representing Jessore-3, has said Bangladesh has entered a magical era with inauguration of Dhaka Metro Rail.
He made the comment while talking to reporters at the metro rail inauguration in Uttara, Dhaka, on Wednesday.
He said: “We are very happy, very excited. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is truly taking Bangladesh forward.”
“On this special day, we remember Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, without whom we would not be an independent nation today. Our sincere gratitude to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina; she has truly made Bangladesh a middle-income, progressive country.”
“Today, Bangladesh has entered the magical era of metro rail. We believe it will expand further and improve more, reducing traffic congestion.”
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated Dhaka Metro Rail on Wednesday morning.
Later in the day, the prime minister, her sister Sheikh Rehana and around 200 others made the first trip of the metro rail – from Uttara North to Agargaon in just 17 minutes.
